Born in Australia, Christine came to Sth Africa almost 40 years ago. She started Chestnut Country Lodge with her business partner back in September 1995 when the property was just a farm house and a shed! Through the years, she has steadily built up the business using her hard working ethic and attention to detail. She loves meeting and hosting the guests whenever possible and over the years has made many friends out of the guests that have visited Chestnut Country Lodge.
Guin came to Chestnut some 12 years ago as a young girl wanting to get into hospitality. Her quick wit and easy laughter has made her a hit with the guests over the years. Her loyalty and support to Christine is immeasurable and together they have made a great team in bringing Chestnut Country Lodge to the success it enjoys today.
Front of House Manager
Christine and Philippa met some 24 years ago when Philippa was a Reservations Manager for another lodge in the area. Over the years they have stayed in touch and Christine had always remembered the advice Philippa gave her all those years ago about what to expect in being in the hospitality industry. Full circle, Christine, was delighted when Philippa and her husband returned to the Lowveld and was able to join our Management team. Philippa has a quiet and unruffled manner and takes every detail in her stride. We are delighted to haver her join our team.
